This is the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation following the Twelfth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, meeting in the Vatican from October 5-26, 2008 which had as its theme The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church. In this document, Pope Benedict XVI sums up the important work done by the Synod of Bishops in three parts: The Word of God, The Word in the Church and To Proclaim the Word of God to the World.
