A Mother's List of Books - Theresa Fagan

$9.95

By Theresa Fagan

This is the 3rd edition of A Mother's List of Books. It includes everything from the first two editions, plus the additional 200 titles that used to be printed and included. These are books that delight, inform and inspire. A few are great, and some are just pure fun. They all respect the dignity of persons, and of marriage and family. The brief comments about the books indicate their content but don’t begin to convey their beauty, depth or wit. Age levels are approximate. Many of the books belong in two, even three age groups. The list includes many lesser known books that are out of print but that are well worth looking for.

  1. Reference book for great books 5 Star Review

This is a very good book to help with finding books to read to children of all ages. There are many classics listed here.

  2. Fantastic overview of great literature for your family to read 5 Star Review

I purchased a first edition version of this book and now the second edition of "A Mother's List of Books" by Theresa Fagan from Casa Maria.
"A Mother's List of Books" is exactly what the title suggests - a fantastic overview and list of books to aid the discerning mother in choosing quality literature for her children. The list is broken into age groups. This new edition also includes a list for very young children, six months to two years which I found helpful. Better than even "Honey for A Child's Heart", this is my go-to literary guide for our children and our homeschooling.

  3. A real parent's helper! 4 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Apr 2016

This is a very helpful compilation of titles appropriate for children. It is divided by age. Some titles are classics , others are wonderful, unknown gems. Nowadays, it is very challenging for a parent to navigate among the thousands of books available especially when so many contain objectionable topics. The list could be improved (the information given for each title is sketchy and inconsistent) but I highly recommend this guide!

  4. Excellent literature list for children 5 Star Review

Compiled by an English teacher who then homeschooled her own children, A Mother's List of Books is a superb resource for any mother wanting quality books for their children to read.
