In this 2023 series, Fr. Stephen Watson, OCD and Fr. Patrick Mary, OCD delivered conferences and homilies to Lay Carmelites on the importance of St. Therese and especially her teachings as a Doctor of the Church. She can be familiar to us and yet unrecognized on how extraordinary it was for her to be named the youngest Doctor of the Church, having had no formal diploma or studies on theology, and no particularly mystical experiences from the Lord. But St. Therese's immersion in holy Scripture and trust in God directed her into a holy Wisdom that she is able to impart to all of us explaining God's mercy. Fr. Watson reminds us in this retreat that she is Doctor of the Church for all of us who need a simple, sure way to God's love.
